So I was going to do a SS14 look book, but I had too many lovely pictures of each outfit so I've decided to separate each look and talk about each look in depth , giving tips on how to achieve each one.
Pastel colours are always big in the spring and summer time. Mint, baby pink and peachy pastels seem to be very popular colours this year. Monochrome is also a timeless trend that is great for transitioning between seasons. All I did to achieve a monochrome look for this outfit was add a lilac full skirt and lavender top. I broke it up with the metallic clutch and court shoes which also enhance the monochrome look , as the watch and shoes are the same colour and purple goes well with metallics.
How to Achieve this Look
The main focus of this outfit is the skirt, I worked everything else around the skirt. Having a focal point when planning an outfit always makes styling easy for me. This is a 50 looks all that's missing is red lipstick , gloves and a hat. This is quite a classy look with the pearls and court shoes. So if you want to achieve my look I would suggest using court shoes of your choice and adding a pearl necklace and earring set of your choice.
You will need a pastel coloured full skirt of your choice. flea markets , vintage shops and charity shops are a great place to look, but I believe Top shop and ASOS.com might have some options. Mine was a find at £2.50 from a charity shop. I chose a full skirt because it suits my figure in fact full skirts are great for every one. They add curves for some and hide problem areas for others and your not naked ( that's an added bonus).
For my make up I went with a nude lip and simple eyeliner. I am still figuring out how to apply make up and what products I want to invest in. I also used concealer and powder on my face.
What I am wearing :
Skirt : Charity shop
Top : Dorothy Perkins
Cat eye sunglasses : ASOS
Court shoes : Miss Selfridge
Accessories :Zara, New look and Primark
Have a lovely Easter every body. I look forward to sharing the next look with you.
