Brown

Hello Lovelies

Today is a quick OOTD. I realised the other day that I need a style change. To be honest I've been in transition for a long time. I'm still decided what is me. I love vintage fashion and I don't see myself ever giving that up. Instead I want my vintage game to get better.

So I wore this outfit on Sunday to church. It's inspired by the 80s and a whole lot of brown. The blouse is one of my favourites. It goes with just about anything and doesn't crease  easily. The trousers are too big for me. They were a perfect fit when I bought them last year. I've had the blazer since my uni days. I love the shoulder pads.

I tried a bantu knot out on my crotchet braids. That was a fail but in their defense I didn't use any styling products. Maybe I'll try it again.
What I am wearing
Blazer : thrifted (charity shop)// Trousers : thrifted ( charity shop)// Blouse : thirfted (charity shop)// Shoes: Office// Bag: Zara // Neckpiece: Dorothy Perkins // Lipstick : Cherrybomb Wet n Wild

Wishing you are happy Friday and an awesome weekend.

Love

SS14: Festival Chica

Hello lovelies.

Today I will be sharing the last of the looks I have for you.( I will be doing some more soon for you). I call this outfit festival chica because it is something I would wear to a festival. It's festival friendly with the comfortable wedges but it remains fashionable and flatters my body. I'm almost always overdressed but That's just me being me.

How to Achieve this look

Festivals are all about the boho trend. It is a time when you can re-live the 60s and the 70s to your little hearts content. Accessories are the key to creating this look. The amber pendant, tinted sunglasses, the Zulu bangles and the belt all help me create the boho look.  If I wanted to take this outfit to the next level I would add a brown fringed bag and some ankle boots or trainers of my choice. I add my personality to the look with my shoes and the vintage bag. Always add your personality to any trend you try out.

So if you want to re create this look accessories with ethnic accessories, some small rounded glasses a slouchy bag and foot wear of your choice. As you can see I still add my own personality to the boho trend with my shoes and the vintage bag.

Happy mid week everybody.  What is your festival look and do you have any helpful tips?

SS14 Looks : Peekaboo

Hello lovelies. Today I will continue my SS14 Looks with the Peekaboo trend. This is something different and daring for me but I love how it turned out .

This trend consists of showing a bit of midriff. You will need a low crop top and something high waist to pull off this look. Quite simple. So the focal point will be the crop top then you can find a bottom on your choice and accessories to go with the crop top.

It took me some time to figure out how to wear a crop top for my body as my tummy is one of my problem areas. If you are a curvy girl then this outfit is dedicated to you. Yes we can wear crop tops and do it tastefully. I want to try this look again with a skirt and a different crop top.

What I am wearing

The High-waist  jeans and crop top are both from charity shops. The shoes are from ASOS ( I believe they are currently on sale here) and the oversized clutch is from Bank.  For this look I show how you can wear this outfit with loafers and heels. I love an outfit that can go from casual to all dressed up and raring to go.

I hope you have been inspired.

OOTD : 1950s dress

I love vintage fashion and I am particularly in love with the 1950s dress. Whether it's a wiggle dress worn popularly by Marilyn Monroe or the circle skirt dresses.  I've been looking for a 50s style dress for a long time and I finally found one that I am happy with.

It is a circle skirt  dress with a lot of colour and it's floral what more could I ask for. Now I guess I will be looking for the perfect wiggle dress. ( Fashion challenge come on)  I paired my dress with some orange heeled shoes from asos and a patent bag. I am all about clashing colours as well as patterns and making a beautiful statement and I think I managed this beautifully with my 50s dress , orange shoes and pink lip.

For you ladies interested in knowing where I got this beauty. I found the dress in a charity shop, quite by accident. It only cost me £6.50. It is in great condition, comes with a little belt in the same pattern as the dress. It's a nice linen material and the perfect lengthen.  This dress is perfect for all seasons in my opinion but I will be wearing it often in the summer time.

I'm loving my hair these days. I got a bit bored for a spell but now I am in love with it again.
I'll start off with my make up look first :

This is a simple make up look all I used is concealor ( MAC NC50 ) and powder (MAC NW45). I filled in my brows with a black pencil ( from MUA). For my lips I used Revlon's Pink pout which is a matte lip stick and I used a plum Lip liner ( it's from a random store).

I have big lips and to give them definition and not the exploded- lip- look I use a lip liner. I can't emphasis the importance of a lip liner.

And the outfit :

Well I hope you have been inpired to try out the 50s change. Keep looking out on a post on how to get that 1950s look.

Have a happy weekend
