Jeans and new hair

Hello lovelies

Just thought I should share a quick OOTD post of what I wore on Sunday to church. My jeans are quickly becoming my go to piece in my wardrobe and believe me there was a time when I didn't own any jeans. I simply lived in my leggings.

What I am wearings :

For curvy girls I would definitely recommend new look jeans, they are stretchy and comfortable.

How to Style : Jumpers with words

Hello lovelies

So it's been a silent week or two. Today I will be talking about jumpers with words ( Slogan jumpers). A continuing trend this winter is dressing up jumpers with words. Slogan jumpers are an interesting piece to have in your closet. They are versatile. You can dress the up or down and they add a chic playfulness to your outfit. Slogan jumpers are also very quirky in my opinion and a great way to brighten up any winter outfit.

Here is how I styled my slogan jumper:

This outfit is inspired by the 80s.

I went for a more casual and comfortable look. Pairing my slightly cropped jumper with some light wash high waist jeans. The 2 inch heel brighten up the look with a pop of pink and glitter. To really take this outfit back to the 80s I added the sketch geek glasses and Egypt motif earring. The Duster coat is for the keeping warm factor but it also adds a chic finish to the outfit along side the mock croc structured bag.

Rentlessly Red :That's so Vintage

Hello lovelies

I wore this outfit last week Friday. It was my mum's birthday and we went to Leeds for the day. We did some shopping and went out for a lovely meal. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  

So relentlessly red isn't just the name of the lipstick I wore with this outfit. This dress is from the deep recesses of my vintage closet. It is actually red with white lines. It is an 80s  teadress ( I know it kind of looks like a 50s dress). I bought this dress at a vintage  kilo sale in Liverpool 2 years ago. I paired my dress with the animal print Tuxedo jacket I got from Dorothy Perkins 3 years ago. I felt like being quirky as I have been living in my jeans lately and I've missed my 'hippy dressing' ( as my mum calls it).

Yebo gallery! : Art exhibition

Hello lovelies

No my Swaziland series isn't over yet. I must admit I'm glad I have this to write about. I'm at a stage where I'm thinking about changing my blog and trying many new things with it. I'm starting to feel a bit frustrated with the quality of work I'm putting out and I am ready for a change.

So while I was in Swaziland I had the opportunity of going to an opening night for a exhibition at Yebo gallery. I must say that I was very impressed and very inspired by what I saw. The exhibition was basically showcasing art work by local designers using recycled stuff such as old furniture. If you are ever in Swaziland you should visit Yebo gallery you will be impressed. A lot of the pieces I saw where for sale at reasonable prices. I loved this particular exhibition and Yebo itself because of what it represents : encouraging local enterprise through art. People often underestimate the power or creativity and what it can do for not just the economy but also how people see themselves.

The theme / dress code was creative / artistic or traditional. I chose to be as creative as my vacation wardrobe allowed me to be.

 I really enjoyed myself as I got to meet some amazing people with great vision and interesting ideas. My personal highlights include meeting the ambassador of the United States to Swaziland. She was a vivacious and interesting woman and she loved everything me and my friend had to say about creativity and our personal projects. My second highlight was finally meeting Swaziland's best fashion designer Khulekani Msweli of Jerem Paul. He was lovely and we connected instantly. The third highlight was meeting the owner and curator of the gallery Aleta Armstrong whom we got to have an extensive and interesting chat with; she introduced us to some important people which was great. The best highlight was spending time with one of my best friends, she invited me to share this experience with her and I can honestly say it was life changing.
