SS14 : spring / summer inspired

Hello everyone and happy first day of the month. So last week I was look book crazy and since then I have compiled some other looks for you guys which I will share with you soon. I am always taking random pictures in my down time. Today's post like a visual mood board from my closet illustrating some things that give me that Spring / Summer inspiration. I will be using these things as inspiration for my upcoming look books, ootds and styling projects. This post will give you an idea of my creative process. I hope you enjoy.

1) Selfies and updos.

These pics were taken on one of my "let me mill around my room and come up with ideas" day. I learnt how to make an almost unwearable lipstick work for me and also that my hair could be styled into an up do. Also I discovered that I can wear a hat with the up do and not ruin my hair style.

 2) Shoes and bags

I've been investing in beautiful shoes that I can wear in the day time and below are some my efforts. As you can see some of these shoes are inspired by the 60s mod trend. I can't wait to style them. I also found some vintage sandals ( 2nd pic). Very 70s.  My clutch bag collection is as colourful as I am. Sometimes you need to lay things out otherwise you just forget about them.

3 Neon Lime

My colour for the summer/ spring period is neon anything. I can't wait to style these items. It would be interesting to see if I can pull off wearing all these things in one outfit.

 4) Garlands and Lipsticks

Vivid colours inspired my summer and spring lips. Its all about the nudes, pinks, oranges and red and now that I have found love in garlands. I am never turning back. Nothing says summer like some beautiful head gear and the perfect lipstick.

5) Lovely babbles

I'm falling in love with art deco inspired jewelry. I love statement pieces and unique pieces.

6) So fresh

I love the Victoria Secret Garden scents are amazing, Mine both have vanilla in them. The Hollister body spray smells like sweet grapefruit, it something I don't usually go for but I love this. As for the Zara perfume, that is going to need a whole post of it's own. The Zara perfumes are all dupes for high end perfumes. Great for everyday use and perfect size for your hand bag.

 7) Nail Varnish Pretty
I'd like to thank the shops that sell nail varnish for 99p. That's why I have so many. These are all my summer colours.

 8) Sun glass love

Sunglasses for me are a must have. I need them in the sun. My eyes can't cope. I have an extensive collection and below are just some of my faves.

Well that's all for today folks. Have a blessed May day. What things make you feel spring and summer ready?

SS14: Festival Chica

Hello lovelies.

Today I will be sharing the last of the looks I have for you.( I will be doing some more soon for you). I call this outfit festival chica because it is something I would wear to a festival. It's festival friendly with the comfortable wedges but it remains fashionable and flatters my body. I'm almost always overdressed but That's just me being me.

How to Achieve this look

Festivals are all about the boho trend. It is a time when you can re-live the 60s and the 70s to your little hearts content. Accessories are the key to creating this look. The amber pendant, tinted sunglasses, the Zulu bangles and the belt all help me create the boho look.  If I wanted to take this outfit to the next level I would add a brown fringed bag and some ankle boots or trainers of my choice. I add my personality to the look with my shoes and the vintage bag. Always add your personality to any trend you try out.

So if you want to re create this look accessories with ethnic accessories, some small rounded glasses a slouchy bag and foot wear of your choice. As you can see I still add my own personality to the boho trend with my shoes and the vintage bag.

Happy mid week everybody.  What is your festival look and do you have any helpful tips?

SS14 True Vintage

Well hello lovelies. You guys know by now that vintage will always be my first love. So for my summer/ spring looks I had to include a vintage outfit. This look is inspired by the 50s and the 70s. It is quite a simple look but the shoes, bag and accessories make it interesting.

How to achieve this look

You will need a simple white button down and a midi skirt of your choice, accessories with items that stand out and there you have it. I decided to wear
This is another full skirt outfit. This  is bang on trend as it features the large daisy print. I love it. The blouse has lace collars and pearl buttons which adds to the classic look. I paired it with my vintage Hermes clutch and some brown sandals.

This is quite versatile outfit that I can wear to a number of occasions. It's feminine and pretty perfect for a smmer/spring outing. I felt beautiful in it and that's how you should feel in any outfit you wear.

Happy Sunday be inspired :)

SS14 Looks : Pastel Monochrome.

Hello lovelies
So I was going to do a SS14 look book, but I had too many lovely pictures of each outfit so I've decided to separate each look and talk about each look in depth , giving tips on how to achieve each one.

Pastel colours are always big in the spring and summer time. Mint, baby pink and peachy pastels seem to be very popular colours this year. Monochrome is also a timeless trend that is great for transitioning between seasons. All I did to achieve a monochrome look for this outfit was add a lilac full skirt and lavender top. I broke it up with the metallic clutch and court shoes which also enhance the monochrome look , as the watch and shoes are the same colour and purple goes well with metallics.

How to Achieve this Look

The main focus of this outfit is the skirt, I worked everything else around the skirt. Having a focal point when planning an outfit always makes styling easy for me. This is a 50 looks all that's missing is red lipstick , gloves and a hat.

This is quite a classy look with the pearls and court shoes. So if you want to achieve my look I would suggest using court shoes of your choice and adding a pearl necklace and earring set of your choice.
You will need a pastel coloured full skirt of your choice. flea markets , vintage shops and charity shops are a great place to look, but I believe Top shop and ASOS.com  might have some options. Mine was a find at £2.50 from a charity shop. I chose a full skirt because it suits my figure in fact full skirts are great for every one. They add curves for some and hide problem areas for others and your not naked ( that's an added bonus).

For my make up I went with a nude lip and simple eyeliner. I am still figuring out how to apply make up and what products I want to invest in. I also used concealer and powder on my face.

What I am wearing :

Skirt : Charity shop
Top : Dorothy Perkins
Cat eye sunglasses : ASOS
Court shoes : Miss Selfridge
Accessories :Zara, New look and Primark

Have a lovely Easter every body. I look forward to sharing the next look with you.
