Trouble

hello lovelies

So this weekend was great for me because one of my bestie's came to up to Skipton to spend the weekend with me. After debating not to go on a night out in Skipton. We decided to drive down to Tesco, stock up on an interesting variety of snacks and watch the Grinch ( which we knew a lot of the lines and scenes to). A quiet night in with your friend is better than going out sometimes. We got to catch up, talk and laugh. On Sunday we decided to go around Skipton charity shops. We were very good and only bought one thing each. I got an amazing dress I plan on sharing in an upcoming party season look book.

Here is the outfit I wore on Sunday. The recurring colour scheme : green, blue and gold. It is very 80s inspired with the double breasted jacket and high waist tailored trousers. I wanted to stay warm so I wore my ' Trouble jumper' and layered it with a statement necklace. To make the outfit pop I used an orange colour. I achieved the colour by mixing two, Revlon's 'Mischievous' and Rimmel's ' In love with ginger'. I mixed the two colours as I wanted a matte finish with a glossy tone. I'm not a big fan of lip gloss.

Outfit Specifics:
Trousers : Vintage// Jumper : Mr Price // Jacket : Vintage // Shoes : Vintage// Bag : Vintage // Statement Necklace: Ali Express.

I am trying to be more consistent with my blog posts and I believe it's working. I am also working on more informative blog posts similar to the 'skin care' post. I am happy with the direction of my blog and I am looking forward to sharing more of who I am with you.

Love and light

SS14 : spring / summer inspired

Hello everyone and happy first day of the month. So last week I was look book crazy and since then I have compiled some other looks for you guys which I will share with you soon. I am always taking random pictures in my down time. Today's post like a visual mood board from my closet illustrating some things that give me that Spring / Summer inspiration. I will be using these things as inspiration for my upcoming look books, ootds and styling projects. This post will give you an idea of my creative process. I hope you enjoy.

1) Selfies and updos.

These pics were taken on one of my "let me mill around my room and come up with ideas" day. I learnt how to make an almost unwearable lipstick work for me and also that my hair could be styled into an up do. Also I discovered that I can wear a hat with the up do and not ruin my hair style.

 2) Shoes and bags

I've been investing in beautiful shoes that I can wear in the day time and below are some my efforts. As you can see some of these shoes are inspired by the 60s mod trend. I can't wait to style them. I also found some vintage sandals ( 2nd pic). Very 70s.  My clutch bag collection is as colourful as I am. Sometimes you need to lay things out otherwise you just forget about them.

3 Neon Lime

My colour for the summer/ spring period is neon anything. I can't wait to style these items. It would be interesting to see if I can pull off wearing all these things in one outfit.

 4) Garlands and Lipsticks

Vivid colours inspired my summer and spring lips. Its all about the nudes, pinks, oranges and red and now that I have found love in garlands. I am never turning back. Nothing says summer like some beautiful head gear and the perfect lipstick.

5) Lovely babbles

I'm falling in love with art deco inspired jewelry. I love statement pieces and unique pieces.

6) So fresh

I love the Victoria Secret Garden scents are amazing, Mine both have vanilla in them. The Hollister body spray smells like sweet grapefruit, it something I don't usually go for but I love this. As for the Zara perfume, that is going to need a whole post of it's own. The Zara perfumes are all dupes for high end perfumes. Great for everyday use and perfect size for your hand bag.

 7) Nail Varnish Pretty
I'd like to thank the shops that sell nail varnish for 99p. That's why I have so many. These are all my summer colours.

 8) Sun glass love

Sunglasses for me are a must have. I need them in the sun. My eyes can't cope. I have an extensive collection and below are just some of my faves.

Well that's all for today folks. Have a blessed May day. What things make you feel spring and summer ready?

New in: Lipstick

Hello lovelies

Prepare for the lipstick bombardment. In the next couple of weeks I will be doing lipstick related series . Today is simply a lipstick haul. Some time last year I decided that I wanted to build my lipstick collection and this year I am making it a reality.

I decided to try out Accessorize lipsticks after seeing the shade Infatuated on a friend of mine. This shade in my opinion is a dupe for Diva by MAC. Infatuated just has more shine to it. I just love the names of the Accessorize lipsticks, they are all about being in love. For £4.95 I would say you do get your value for money. So far I have worn Infatuated and Passionate and I can't complain.

I bought the Maybelline colour senesation and the MUA in shade 15 on a whim. I had time to kill while waiting for a friend so I decided to go into Super drug to play with lipstick. The Maybelline colours swatched really well on my hand however I am not happy with the colour payoff of the Taupe and coral colour on my actual lips, they are not as pigmented as I would like. I am in love with the naked brown shade it is everything. I would definitely recommend it . As for MUA it is supposed to look peachy nude on your lips however it can end up looking more chalky than peachy, but it is quite amplified and I love that about it. You would need a lip liner for this shade just to give your lips some definition.

As for the MAC lipsticks ...  I have a list of all the MAC lipsticks I want to buy so all the lip colours you see where on the list. I am slowly working through it until I get all the MAC lipsticks I want. I think they are the best value for money as they are pigmented and last you forever. Parting with your £15 isn't fun but for something that defeats your food, drink and other activities  I think it is definitely worth it.

Onto the fun part y'all:

(Just thought I should point out that I would usually wear lipstick with a lip liner but I decided to just put on the lipsticks as they were so you could really get a look at the colour.)

Accessorize:

MUA

 MAC

 Maybelline

Well lovelies that's it from me.

I hope you have a lovely day

Winter faves : Nailpolish and Lipstick edition

Hello lovelies
You will probably here me say this phrase 'I'm not much of a makeup person' a lot. One thing I do love is lipstick and more recently nail polish. Winter never used to exist in Tiwi land. I remember telling someone that in January summer began for me. That's because I wasn't confident in my winter wardrobe and at the time I had an obsession with flimsy dresses. I hated wearing the same coat all the time .

Winter is all about going for darker shades. It took a bit of convincing from YouTube and other sources but I've learnt to try new things. I'm quickly falling in love with darker more intense lipsticks and I'm loving it.

My winter colours consists of reds, neutrals, purples and black. Just thought I should add that lip liner is your best friend. It helps give definition to the lips, you can create new exciting shades with your lip liner and lipstick. If your not sold on liner then at least invest in a brown liner.

This is one of the looks I created. I used exxagerate by sleek, a black cheery lip liner by Barry M and black cherry by sleek. I love it.

Lipstick:

I would say that the nude and red shades are all year round faves, but I still felt the need to include them.

Nail Polishes :

When it comes to nail polish it has always been about bright colours for me. I was never a fan of dark colours until I stole a friend's dark purple nail varnish and it  looked amazing on me. So recently I went on a hunt for that nail varnish but couldn't find it ( typical). I did however find some other amazing colours and I've added pastel colours to my new favourites.

On that short sweet note. You will be seeing these lips colours in alot of my ootds and so on. Hope you have enjoyed this post. If you have any questions or suggestions please share with me. I love learning new things.

Have a lovely day

Tiwi xx
